Chowking Corporate Website

Chowking is one of the famous fast food chains in the Philippines under the Jollibee Food Corporation. It offers Chinese-style dishes with a touch of Filipino taste. Collaborated with our Graphic Designer, Robert Valdellon in creating the official Chowking corporate website in 2015. The design is inspired by their newly renovated stores here in the Philippines.

Designing the Website

The client wanted only two things: For the navigation to be on the left and for it to resemble their newly renovated stores. And so, my idea was to do a two-panel responsive website, but how? I didn’t even think that this was possible because we are used to designing  pages in a vertical layout.

I started with the wireframes and then collected all the web content so i can create just the right layout for each page. And from there, I started to create the website with the help of Robert, our Graphic Designer, who translated the look of the stores into vector elements. And look, we were able to address the two main concerns of our client.

I thought that this would look really weird on mobile, but I was able to maintain the simple and clean design on all the devices. Thanks to our front-end developer, Michael Yap, who made the website as I expected it to be.
